Definitely something you want to ask your doctor about. He/she will probably put you on a different kind of pill. As long as you're taking the pill as you're supposed to, you shouldn't have concerns with ineffectiveness. If you're not sure or confidant in the effectiveness of the pill right now, then please either abstain from having sex, or use a condom. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Your birth control isn't less effective as long as you are taking it every day without fail. My body took about 7 months before it fell into a reliable pattern with my period at the right time.

It could also be irregular due to stress, change in diet or change in sleep patterns. Check with your doctor if it is really worrying you, just to set your mind at ease.

Same thing happened to me and I JUST Got regular and im on my 7th pack lol.my period would come 2nd week of starting and even the 3rd week..once my period was on for 2 weeks but it was cause i skipped the placebo pills and went straight into a new pack. Im fine now. I say ride it out, and see what happenes..it takes a little while for your body to get adjusted to all those hormones..nothing to worry about.

Sounds like you are having side effects so call your doc on Monday and report this to him/her. The docs nurse will call you back and tell you what the doc wants to do or what he thinks is going on.
