I saw a princess hat being made on the show Knitty Gritty, I loved it so much but the thing is, that it was knitted. I'm a fast learning crochet rockie and would like try to crochet a princess hat for my toddler. Please help. Thanks.

i looked up the pattern, and it seems like it would convert well to crochet. The key is to match the gauge. you need to use a yarn that will felt well, and yes, crochet can be felted.
below are a few links on how to convert knit to crochet. basically, you need to buy the yarn, crochet a swatch to get the gauge, and then calculate the number of stitches you need to match the size of the finished pattern.for this hat I would recommend single crochet, as it is stiffer than double crochet, and thus will hold the shape better.
