I'm a mediocre pianist in high school looking for career advice... I'm pretty sure I could get into a good piano performance program, but I'm not certain I'll be good enough to be in the top percentile that becomes concert pianists. So what else? Teach? Play in bars? Advice please!

You can always teach little kids in your neighbourhood, or become a songwriter-composer that writes for major cd labels. There's also becoming better at piano at the same time so you can get a qualified job as a concert pianist or accompanimentist for violin/clarinet.

yep - you could be a teacher - could be a composer and write songs

could be an accompanist in a church - or for solists - in high school - both vocal and instrumental competitions

Was once offered $300 to play on Saturnday nights at a
club - just to play oldies

and it is a LOT of fun to play for yourself -
