Because there are way more stupid people in the world than smart people, so when you ask a stupid question they all jump at the chance to pretend to be smart.

Serious questions will draw varied replies as you've discovered. Perhaps when a so called stupid question is asked, it draws boobs out of the woodwork? Could also be that these same mindless folks are unable to provide any real source of help?
Those of us who enjoy being a source of true help, search for answers, which can require some serious digging in some cases. Maybe the seriously inclined comprise only a few to the many.
Please don't allow this to bum you out any more than that goof in the grocery store line who cuts in front of you with his 15 items when you only have 2.
So ask away and weed out the dumb-butts, and you'll get helpful answers that are anything but dumb.

because stupid questions do not require much thought but a serious one like parenting and trying to conceive does. most people would rather type and couple of words and get points than to spend time giving an honest and thoughtful answer. hope this helps. good luck.

I wish I knew. I hate when people go into a category that they have no interest or knowledge in and feel the need to respond--maybe it's for the points or maybe there are just more stupid people.

I ask serous questions and maybe 1 person answers vaguely.
Then (just out of frustration) I'll purposely ask a stupid question about some dumb sex question or body function and a million people reply.

If your serious questions are too hard, or people don't have correct or accurate info to give you then they probably don't want to bother. On silly questions everyone will answer to get their two points.

I think that maybe it is because less people know the answer to your more important questions. It happens to me too. At least you know that the answers are more likely to be right than just made up.
