You got a good point there.Over many years we tend to become less sensitive to things that we once saw as disgraceful. Twenty years ago gay marriage was something not talked about in public.Today it's all over TV,Internet and out in public. You can't get away from it.If we make it legal now just think what else will be the next big thing to come along.

No i don't think marrying a pet would do anyone any good. Beside pets can be adopted as can children and once you adopt you are expected to follow certain rules. I don't think you have to ground your pet if it stays out late. So i guess gay marrage won't be for breeding purposes. so it will be a little different but it is still for the same reason, legal commitment of love inthe eyes of church and state.

Everyone is different. Everyone has their own person to love. Sometimes, that person is a person of the same sex. That should be legal. But comparing same sex marriage with marrying your pet is just sick. There is no comparison. While I am a woman who has been married to a man for 18 years, I still support the rights of others to love and marry whomever they choose. I do not have a right (and neither do you) to judge. If you want to keep it out of your narrow world, then more power to you, but that is as far as your rights go.

You are using faulty logic. The "slippery slope" is something English teachers abhor. Those two subjects are not in any way connected. First establish a logical connection, then try your argument. As long as two consenting adults are involved it's no one else's business. Most people that disagree with gay marriage either don't understand the facts or disagree with it for religious reasons, meaning their church leaders tell them it's bad or their religious books say that it's bad. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs so individual religions should retain the freedom to not marry gay couples if they so choose, but I have yet to hear anything substantial that suggests gay marriage would have a detrimental effect on anyone. I have often heard phrases such as "It's just gross." or "It's just common sense." I honestly don't like the thought of picturing any couple I know having intimate relations regardless of their sexual orientation, but that's just me. As far as the common sense phrase, well, that is strictly based on common exposure. All studies that I have heard of suggest that children adopted by gay couples do not fare any worse than children of heterosexual couples. I myself am a heterosexual, but I think that this minority is doing no harm and needs protection. Present a logical argument and I might go into further detail with you....

No. Attraction to another human being and attraction to animals is two completely different things and should never be even referenced. But it seems the anti-same-sex marriage folks always drag the argument from same-sex marriage to bestiality and pedophilia. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Homosexual men and women are not sexually attracted to kids or animals. Think about it, all the child molesters are outwardly heterosexual.
Remember, 50% of the population is below average, ane the über-conservatives will continue to use the bestiality and pedophilia accusations to scare the hell out of them to further their twisted homophobic agenda.

I feel very strongly on this sort of topic! I am not gay, and I think I just found out one of my really good child hood friends is lesbian. Just because they like the same sex, doesn't mean they are some sort of aliens. (I apologize in advance If I offend anyone by using the word "Gay".) I think why the hell does it matter what is between your legs to get married. Marriage is for people who want to be with one another, to love each other, who want to devote their lives to each other. Gay people have feelings too! Just because they like the same sex, doesn't mean they don't have a right to be happy. They should have every right just as if a man and women want to get married. What if you just found out someone in your family was gay, would you say they didn't have a right to be happy, because they want to marry a guy/girl? That's just insane. I think people who like the same sex should have every right to get married, and have every right a human being has. They deserve to be happy. I hope you guys get your rights!!!!!! Good Luck.

First off, I completely agree. Free for all. Marry your mother, gay lover, or golden retreiver. Morals and decency are completely overrated anyhow.
And Jessica, why would you apologize for using the word GAY? (I apologize in advance If I offend anyone by using the word "Gay".)
It's almost like you realize it's an insult. People are too friggin worried about hurting someone's feelings that they apologize for using an everyday word. Now, is gay equiv. to calling an "American American" black?
Get a grip, people.

Oh, yes, actually we should allow all kinds of marriages. I am not kidding. This is the way we will clean up our species, a little bit. Homosexuals, beast lovers, doors lovers (I am sure that there is at least one person on this planet who would like to marry his/her door) etc. will stay away from having normal sex, thus will not have children. I spoke.
Hey, guys, stop calling him stupid. You are as stupid as he is because you really didn't understand his question. The question refers to breaking something that we used to call, for thousands of years, "normality; the right way". His question is legitimate, but it is not for dumb people who call themselves "free spirits".

That's a stupid argument. It's not the same thing. How would you like to be told that you couldn't marry the person you wanted to just because of someone else's views?
