I think the guy interviewing him on over the phone set him up for it. He would have never said that in public if not asked. I don't approve of what he said but hey many Athletes feel the same way. I bet if you would ask all of them a lot would let those words slip out of their mouths.

I so don't approve of him saying it because he is (kind of) a celeb. Some kid might look up to him and he shouldn't say he hated any one type of person. BUT BUT BUT why banish him. I think that was way harsh and uncalled for. He was stupid for saying it but he did public applogize. You can't say ANYTHING these days without it being a big deal.

If someone, and ex NBA guy with ties to the league, came out and said" I hate Black people" Would the league be right to banish them? I believe in free speech too, but the NBA is also a business. It is within it's right to do this.

Being the profesional that he is, or used to be, Tim Hardaway was out of line when he said that. Profesional athletes are under the spotlight and people are waiting to catch them doing something. It was stupid what he said, true, but stupid on his part. To be honest, im not a big fan of gay people either........thats just gay.

i think they should have kicked his *** out of the league! And the interviewer could not have possibly set him up for that...no one sets you up to say "i hate gay people" those are words that came out of HIS mouth......its disgusting that some can be so ignorant....

Yes it was unfair. He is entitled to his own opinion. I have no problem with gay people and I don't think it should matter that he does.
