eat baby food anymore? When i first introduced it to her..she loved it...whether it was sweet potatoes or fruit...she hasnt really ever liked the meats, but the fruits and vegetables she loved. Now lately everytime i try to feed her, she shakes her head no and will not eat baby food anymore. But..if it is on my plate, she wants it. Is this typical? And if so what do you suggest? She mostly drinks formula still...so is this anything to be concerned about, or should i worry about it more once she hits a year old???

I wouldn't worry about it. Babies go through weird phases. If she is that old, she may just be getting full off of the formula and not want anything else. Maybe try to give her less formula and see if she is hungry for other things. She may not like the baby food and may want more "real" food which is why she wants it off of your plate. They usually all love mashed potatoes, or something like that. I know my 18 month old did the same thing around that age. He got a taste of real food and was over his baby food! My husband made a good point- if I wouldn't eat the baby food (which I tried and was really gross) why would I expect my baby to eat it? Good luck!!

Hi there I don't think it's any think to worry about I have never really fed my children jar food it tastes horrible. I think the food that you cook your self is more fresh and better for your baby then jar food so if your happy feeding your baby off your plate don't worry about it or put some food on a smaller plate for your baby that's what I do because before lone you will be doing that any as you child will wont a plate just like you. Children like to do what your doing. Eat like you and eat what your eating.

it could be the babyfood is just to bland and unintressting for her. get her a sippy cup. see if she can lean to hold that and introduce her to the baby juices. also u can try to get some of the finger foods they have in the babysections since normal food with seasonings could still be to hard on her little belly, but stuff like the gerber toddler foods. carrots in little chunks and the little sausages and put them on a pretty plastic child plate and see if she can handle feeding herself that way.
she is at an age where the babies get very curious about everything going on around them. so let her try with the stuff that is safe from babyisle

If she does not like bought jar food, puree your own boil it and put it in a grinder pour it in ice cube trays and freeze it take out cubes as needed. It is much healthier and tasteful. 9 months is usually the time to start introducing food now a days. In my day it was 2 - 3 months starting with watery rice cereal, but that is not recommended now at all. The later they are introduced to food the better chance they have not having severe allergies.

I suggest you feed her real food. Would you want tasteless mushey food when everyone els is eating good food? always make something for her when you cook. She can eat about anything except spicy things. Get a 19.00 chopper and use it for all your foods. Make jello and puddings, it's cheaper. leave some food out before adding salt or pepper, she is telling you she wants real food so give it to her sadely. That is real life and that is the way our mothers did it. Make applesauce or buy the large cups and feed her twice from it. Mash banannas, cook cream of wheat and instant oatmeal. You'll do good as long as it's not spicy, then you can take her some out before adding spices. Good luck.

Feed that baby what she wants. She still is taking formula, so you know that she is getting that nourishment. Feed her table food. It tastes so much better. There will come a time when she won't want to eat anything. Most kids go through that stage too.
Make her happy! She is little for only a short time. Enjoy her.

it sounds like she is trying to be more like you. She wants the big girl food. Mommy's plate always looks better. I haven't had my own plate of food in years! As long as she eats healthy food that she is able to safely intake, no need to worry.

Have you ever tasted baby food? yuck.

My daughter quit eating jar baby food around that time and I just started feeding her mashed or cut real small table food.
