I just noticed I could double the performance of my Windows Vista machine by turning off energy management:?

What does this do, and where does the performance come from. I guess I am asking what kind of "Choke" the energy management system puts on the compter.

What kind of CPU your computer has? It depends on the brand, i got a dell and when i unplug my computer and let it run on battery. My network card stop working, monitor went dim and my Core 2 Duo's 2nd die stop working. I turned all those power saving features off. Im guessing it depends on who the computer maker is
