Im 18 and this is my first baby and was quite a surprise to me. I am now beginning to get excited about this whole idea of my baby growing inside of me, but morning sickness has begun to take its toll and I feel so hopeless....I'm sick all of the time!

First off- *HUGE HUG* I feel ya girl. I found out I was pregnant with my daughter last November and spent all of Thanksgiving, all of Christmas, and most of Easter over a toilet. It was *not* enjoyable.
Unfortunately, I had a particularly bad case of 'morning' sickness, and had to start a regiment of anti-nausia medicines to keep from getting dehydrated.
Take heart though, most women's never get that bad. I did, however, try a slew of things to try and make it go away.
-Ginger tea or candy (anything with real ginger in it)- it supposedly helps with the acid and the reflux
-the 'crackers by the bed' remedy, which does work to settle the nausia
-B6.. a suppliment that really didn't do much for me but make me a little less sleepy.
-flat soda... coke or sprite seemed to work best for me

The proven things that I *know* worked for me was to simply force myself not to over eat (one minute I was starving, and the next I was hugging a toilet- there wasn't an in between)... realize that this little person growing inside of you is taking up room, and even at the very begining, they're starting to push up on your diaphram and stomach, making the food want to stay down even less.
As much as I wish there was a magical cure- every woman is different. It can't hurt to try them all out and see what works best for you. And as hard I -know- this is, keep heart.. the first day you wake up without the nausea nagging at you, you'll honestly forget it even happened. Crazy, but always true.
Take care- and best of luck!

Its all part of the pregnancy. You should get over it in a few more weeks surely. Untill then do some reading and find out what is suggested in the books. I have found the book What to Expect When Your Expecting to be a great read during pregnancy. I read it the whole 8 months with my daughter and I am now pregnant with my 2nd child and have started reading it again. Good Luck with the sickness it should really ease up by no later then your 12th to 14th week....

Been there! Sorry to hear that. It really is crippling. I was sick for 5 mths like that. Take food to bed with you. (crackers, ginger snaps, pretzels, bread) When you wake up before you sit up turn to your side and eat a little bit. If that doesn't help then all you can do is drink plenty of liquid (not soda) a good drink to throw up in stead of nothing is warm water, warm Gatorade or ginger ale. Be careful with power drinks though they are full of salt.

I read in a parents magazine that ginger helps w/ nausea in general. There was a ginger sucker that was reccomended for morning sickness. Don't remember the website or name, sorry. Know that things get better and it's totally worth it.
