I am going to make my certification video soon. Does anyone have any tips on or about it for my video/certification?

NYSUIT offers free classes. I went to one, and found that if you just read the darn directions, you'll be fine!

1. Stay on camera at all times.
2. Don't feel you have to get EVERY student in the camera's range.
3. rearrange the desks if you have to.
4. tell the students BEFOREHAND how important this is to you. I told my classes that I will throw a pizza party for them if they "stay with me" the entire time. My kids were awesome! (so sweet... they really did understand how important it was, and were even nice enough to state that pizza wasn't necessary... that they'd "do their best for me anyway" I was so touched!.)
5. Make sure that you have the required amount of minutes for DIRECT INSTRUCTION as well as GROUP WORK.
6. Don't plan an extensive lesson. Keep it simple and clean. Don't drive yourself crazy.
7. Take a mental day off for yourself when it's over! Get a darn sub, and treat yourself to a massage or something. You deserve it! The State Requirements are SUCH BS!
