What are the best methods for getting back into my old circle of friends?

Even though *I* have been the one trying to stay in touch,they have kicked me out without explanation. I heard the quote secondhand "She is an expert in everything - except tact". So, I could tell them all to rack off, but I want to be better then that, as I value the friendship of one or two. So, how can I win back my popularity in this social circle?

If they were true friends they would have brought your lack of tact to your attention there and then. If there are one or two who are still open to your friendship, invite them around for a bar-be-cue or something similar and start from there if these people are really that important to you. Don't go "talking about the others" to the ones you invite over - they will probably go running back and blabbing anyway. Show interest in everything they have all been doing and maybe send apologies to anyone you may have inadvertantly offended.

If you really want to work your way back you need to learn tact, tell them the true that you heard through the grapevine that you offended some of them with being too blunt and that you never intended to hurt anyone and that you miss them. If they are willing to give you another chance either ask them to be honest if you are being too much, or pick someone you know you can trust in the group to work out a signal so that you know you need to check yourself. I know I try to balance my honesty with tact and it is not always easy, but my close friends always know that if they want the truth they come to me.........

i would deffinately think about why you had a falling out with this group. are they really your friends? or just people to spend time with so youre not alone?
