When they are in line with the certain member of the body the shorts are supposed to cover that is too short. Me myself believe a little above the knees is too short

getting a little more than 2 inches above the knee are too short for most guys to wear and not be considered short shorts.
It honestly depends also on the length of your legs.

I feel like above the knee is too short. It makes me think of those 80's people with bright colored shorts. That's just my opinion.

You know those little 70's basketball outfits? Those were too short. Add about four inches to those, and that's where the line should be drawn.

If they are jean shorts and not for golf then...
about 4 inches above the knee

um if they are tight and 2- 4 inches aove your knee they are too short

They are definately too short when the ars* cheeks are visible, and quite a turn off me actually.

No shorter than knee length for out and about. If you are doing exersise, a little shorter is okay too.
