If I am understanding the question - you just moved the monitor not the computers. If this is the case - the place to begin would be the display drivers - they are most likely not installed correctly.
If you do not have the display drivers on CD - check to see what kind of Display Adapter you have - go to Control Panel - double clicking on System - hardware tab - device manager - click plus next to display adapter. If there is a yellow ? or ! - needs drivers reinstalled - do a Google search for the drivers.

That is a display adapter (video card) driver issue. Download the latest driver at your video card manufacture website (the driver for XP!) and it will change. I have done this dozens of times.

Check the image settings in windows or go to your video card settings and try to change them there.
If this does not work try checking to see if your up to date on the current drivers for your video card.

you need to reinstall the Video driver, if you just installed xp then chances are you need to install your video drivers, Windows update may often have them listed or if youre pc came wtih some driver discs
