Plan to take what you think you will need. You can buy basic items at the resorts but things are expensive there and selections are limited. Take your own sunscreen, bug repellant if you think you will need it. Take a digital camera. The electricity is basic 110v as in the US. Things that run on US power will do just fine there. If you are in Europe you will need a converter. When we were there in July the thing we couldn't find was a notepad. We wanted to write email addresses of new friends but couldn't find the paper. Take your own. Also take $1 for tipping. Take about 100 of them. Jamaicans live in dire poverty and tips are very much appreciated.
While we are on that subject, think about taking some items to give to the Jamaicans. Things such as school supplies are invaluable there but can be bought at Wal Mart here. Shoes are precious, etc. Think about what you can do for them and it will make for a special trip. Resorts are used to handling such things and will have a contact to get the items to.

jamaica is economically poor.. but everyone can survive by means possible. when travelling here, you might need enough money for your transportation if you r sightseeing(RENTAL) cost about $2500-3000 ja per day($40 us). every thing else is ok as jamaica is a replica of the american culture in terms of food, supplies, electrical supplies etc. make sure you have your passport and let no one give you anything to carry up or down.
you probably might need a camara and lots of money because once you are here you'll never want to go back.

Just take your money. you will get anything you need. Anything you can get in America you can get it in Jamaica, once you have your money. Oh!! you can take your sorrows with you, cause when you are leaving you wont behaving any. THE PLACE IS JUST GREAT!!!!!!!!
