i know that new dvd releases are able to be bought on tuesdays like at target, best buy, etc.
but i also think that new dvd releases come to movie rental stores before the tuesday that u can buy them. so i wanted an answer to that.

Sorry, but the day movies come out for rent is the day they come out for sale. They used to release movies for rent before they were for sale in order to build up hype and give the video stores a little business. They stopped doing that when they released DVD's. When they are for sale they are for rent and vice versa.

I worked at a large retailer for 3 years and new releases always got put out at 12 am on tuesday

New DVD releases are generally released on Tuesdays at 12:01 AM. It is illegal to sell them to anyone before that time. I work at Wal-Mart, that's the only reason I know that.

In many cases the DVDs arrive before Tuesday, but stores aren't allowed to sell them before Tuesday. Occasionally a store will break the rules, but they aren't really supposed to do that.

movie places get new releases a month before they come out to DVD. if you find a movie place that is selling them before they're supposed to come out you should report it because its illegal. i worked at a movie place and that's what all my managers told me.

i worked at video ezy for about 2 years and there is no paticular day they r released they r all different depending on the release date by the supplier eg paramount,warner but generally video and department stores get it a few days earlier to allow time to prepare the movie for sale or hire
