I was trying to make my wireless secure with WPA and lost connection with the passphrase. Is there a way that I can go back in and fix this?

reset your router.

and why would you downgrade encryption from wpa to wep.
if you're worried about encryption, and people breaking in, wep is crackable in under 15 minutes. i can do it in about 3. wpa is better encryption, and if someone really wanted to break into your network, either one wouldn't really matter.

You can either connect directly to the router with an Ethernet cable, or you can take a pen/pencil and press and hold the reset button on the back for 30 seconds. This will reset the router to factory settings, but you'll have to set it up from scratch.

You need to call your router manufacturer. I use Linksys and they have 24/7 tech help for free. I think all do. They will walk you through it.
