"A Patch of Blue", is a beautiful story of a blind girl.. who has never known love, and a man who has known love but has also seen terrible cruelty....
They fall in love, and throughout the book he calls her a 'pure of heart girl', referring to her innocence to the ways of the world and her desire to love and be loved....
>>>>

Some people argue that it can mean lots of different things, not necessarily innocence or chastity....

How do you feel about it??? what does it mean to you??

Thanks, for answering, in advance!;-)

*Have a nice weekend* .. ;)

Pure of heart can only be of a person's actions to others with no malice in mind, no returns or favors expected but doing the role of a link in the great chain to the best of his abilities. However the betterment to oneself and the society at large is taken into account, it becomes service unto Him.

I have argued this with my mother.
When I was younger I told her that I was innocent not naive. She said I was naive not innocent. While I get her point I also strongly believe mine point to be true:

I was not naive...I had too many experiences and seen too much, I had also escaped alot of darkness and danger because I really did (and do ) have a pure heart.

I saw too much to be naive ...but was on the outside (protected??) so as not to be destroyed.Pure of heart.

Now in my early 30's the pure of heart I relate to is the ability to be a genuine, straight forward person who is loving and able to see beauty in everything.

I believe that it is a true sort of innocence. Someone who knows only good is pure of heart.

I believe that only a mentally disabled person may be pure of heart because they simply wouldn't know any different.

"Pure of Heart"
a word that is rarely used now days I say!
A clear conscience, to see good in people, to be good with no evil taughts about no one, to be free of sins, and an angel on hearth I say!
All the best on finding such a person!

To me 'pure of heart' means innocent. Not capable of doing wrong, sinless, virtuous.

Someone who sees (no pun intended) the good in everyone.

IT MEANS A GENUINE PERSONALITY. IT MEANS SHE IS NOT FAKE AND DOESNT ACT CERTAIN WAYS TO PLEASE PEOPLE OR TO GET WHAT SHE WANTS. PURE TO HEART MEANS SHE IS WHAT SHE IS, THERE IS NO SCANDALOUS WAYS ABOUT HER.
