I am going to go out on a limb here but, hey how many limbs have already been lost as a result of oil being a major fuel that runs an economy such as ours. Well maybe 20 years is what my guess is, and if you ask T boone Pickens JR. well, he knows. He is one of the biggest oil tycoons in the world. He says we are running on empty soon...

Let's see, Chevron just announced an oil find in the Gulf that rivals the Saudi reserves.

Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and other western states have all kinds of oil. Anwar has oil, just to name a few.

We have plenty of oil in this country The wacko environmentalists have the liberals , Kennedy etc., in their pocket so they will always vote to restrict oil drilling in this country or lose all that election money.

No refinery has been built in this country for over 30 years because of the environmentalists.

I was in my 20's in 1974 when they started capping oil wells in Texas. They weren't capped because they were out of oil, they were capped to raise prices of oil when the Arabs nationalized all oil company holdings in their countries.

I don't think I would believe too much of what a Texas oil person says....they screwed this country big time once already

Our resources are unlimited. Our petroleum will be available for at least another 50-100 years. The only thing holding us back is the technology to get it out of the ground(that includes offshore).

All depends on whether we are allowed to get it,I hear all these people with various stories and half of them are bull. I'm not going to ask you to take my word for it or tell you hokey stories about Canadian oil I say ask the source,Exxon or Shell. Right now many of them estimate that there is more oil off our continents shores than we could use at current levels in the next 35 years, but we aren't allowed to drill it due to outdated environmentaln restrictions that are no longer needed due to the ability to drill and retrieve deep water oil much more safely now. As long as we demand a certain cleanliness standard there is no reason not to drop the ban on offshore drilling in certain areas. Instead through our ignorance we are going to give that oil to China that is rightfully ours because as we speak they are preparing off shore units to put in international waters and drill those same areas. But hey what do we care huh? And of course the Chinese will do it much more cleanly than us since they are so concerned with the environment(sarcastic remark) Combine those oils with oil from all over the world and there is easily at least another 50 plus years of world supply, more if we increase bio fuel use and finally start using nuclear power like most of the rest of the civilized world.

Endless resource my ***. I too work in the oil industry. Texans!!!! Pull your ******* heads out. Currently the US is bullying Canada for the oil sands in northern Alberta. In which (due to the totally bogus NAFTA agreement) they are DEMANDING to increase the export 5 times what it is taking right now, 85% of all oil produced. Even if Canada runs out of oil, and it will, they will still be tied into supplying US insatiable greed. Give it 30 yrs. and the whole world will wonder where it all went. USA imports more oil from CANADA than anywhere else.

Oil is a natural occurring event in the earth. Dinosaurs and fossil fuel is B.S. Oils is found in the middle east and as of yet not a single one has been found there. What fossils in the dessert of the middle east could make so much oil? The supply is endless. Now we may suck the earth dry one day, but it will produce more oil over time.
