Maybe it's metaphoric for him killing your dreams or killing your spirit. Anything like that happening?

Dreamsareusually the subconcious working out or resolving issues that are not settled. A variation of things can occur, like condensation, a phenomena where we take a multitude of different unresolved situations and compile a single dream out of them. I am not a dream analyst but am familiar with the topic and I would say that you may not want to be with this person or are afraid of him, or are guilty of something and are suffering guilt, that you are trying to resolve. Dreams can come from fears and desires. This sounds like a fear. If you believe that your waking self is in denial about the character of your boyfriend and your mind is afraid of your boyfriend then reexamine the relationship. You may be more comfortable in a safer relationship.
If he is safe and a good guy who does not hurt you or threaten other people it maybe some other fear that you should deal with within yourself, like commitment fear.

It is a dream, perhaps you are afraid of something, and it is manifesting itself with something/someone you like/love. Talk to your Bf or someone about it, that seems to get my dreams out of my head.
