I will be going to Orlando in a couple weeks. I don't want to rent a car. Can I get a taxi from the airport to the hotel on International Drive and back to the airport? If so how do I get one once I land in Orlando and what is the name of the taxi service they use? Also are the taxi service available 24 hours a day?

Use Mears Shuttles and Taxi's. You can make reservations online in advance. You can even make reservations from trips from your hotel to the parks. It runs about 12 bucks round trip from I-drive to Disney and about 30 for roundtrip from the airport.

For a taxi you are looking to spend more than $50 each way. I don't know exact prices, but it can get pretty pricey. Mears would be the least expensive option, if you don't mind doing a shuttle. The only problems with a shuttle is that there are a lot of people and it may be a longer trip to get your resort.

If you prefer to take a transfer that will only be you, then you could do a private transfer. You can do a towncar transfer for less than the cost of a taxi and they are much cleanier and service oriented than a taxi, this is the way I go. Usually round trip is around $100 and then the tip. There are several good companies in the area.

As far as taxis, I don't know much about them. There is usually one waiting outside of the airport for people to pickup. There is also a phone you can use to call a taxi if you need it, there are people in the airport that can help you if you need them.

I hope this answers your question!

Everything in Orlando is so spread out that it would cost you a fourtune to take a taxi everywhere espically if you are visiting the theme parks! They have car rentals at the airport, unless driving yourself is not an option, I would definitly rent a car.
