McAfee is what I currently have (the trial version).

It seem's Norton did not allow as much crap to go through when I had it.

People have told me it take's up too much space on your pc though?

Your thoughts?

neither.

Go with a free one that is just as good (if not better) than either Norton or Macfee:

Downside is its in Germany, and no phone tech support that I know of.

Upside is that I have hardly ever had to use their tech support, software works great and I have had little to no problems.

Dear both hav reutation in antivirus seagment . But working as a security expert I can suggest you McAffe because Norton is quite slower & not effectively repair all viruses.
But to be better secure from viruses & etc you must have install a firewall programme if u use internet . Zone Alarm is best i think beacause it is free & comes from most reputed vendor Checkpoint.
If your pc is of good conf than pls also any antispyware prog with it(McAffe also work). Try McAfee 10 I found that it protect against all viruses till now. Wish you a virus free & secure computing

I was told by a computer tech that Norton is the best there is. My comp. is 5 yrs old and works just fine, I`ve had Norton since day one, no viruses or any other problems.

Norton is the better product. As for space, I have have so much unused space on my computer it really doesn't matter. Most newer computers come with overkill ram so I don't see this as an issue. I'd rather have the best and know I'm protected.

Norton and McAfee are about the same. Kaspersky is better, in my opinion. Try it for free before buying: http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/trial-versions.php

neither one is worth the price and norton does tend to take over your pc but the choice is yours
