You're probably joking cause you're a smart *ss like that, but...
I hate to see birds kept in cages, it's terribly cruel...
it would be like taking chocolate away from a female, or porn away from a male...birds are meant to fly.

Cages are for their safety too. I have birds- they get out around 4-5 hrs a day at least. If I am not in the room with them- they are in their cage. There are too many things that could go wrong, including someone opening the door and letting the bird out.
One of my birds is a rescue- the owner didn't want him anymore because he turned mean (was a hand fed sweet baby) The reason he turned mean was that he was left outside of the cage at all times. Therefore, his independence and attitude grew. It has taken me 4 months to get him to go where I want him to (to come with me somewhere) when it wasn't his idea in the first place. He still bites and attacks me every once and a while, but he hasn't drawn blood in 2 months.
Not all cages are small- my two cockatiel's cage is big enough that they could fly acrossed it if they wanted to, but rarely do. It is roughly 30"by 18" and 40" high.

Well......to keep the bird from flying away of course!! LOL, and cages can also protect the bird. We have a parakeet and she has her wings clipped so she can't really fly. The cage protects her from our cats and dog too!! I don't think Figaro, our "wild" cat would be to nice to her.
