I heard from a friend of mine that it is possible to let Crayola crayons act as eyeshadows/eyeliners. Have you heard of this and if so, do you know how to put it on? I've attempted to color my skin and it wasn't very successful. This may sound a bit far fetched, but no rude remarks please.

My friend and I are laughing at how gullible we are. Let's just say this information wasn't a sure thing from her. I was just looking for something fun to do when I get bored on the weekends. I do believe I'll stick to Mary Kay so that my eyes don't swell up like balloons, sounds like good reasoning don't you think? Haha.
By the way, I'm 14 and have been wearing makeup since I was 12. No, you won't be seeing me coming down the street with blue crayola scribbled on my eyelids.
Thank you so much for your answers.

Let me say this outright. I am not an idiot when it comes to applying makeup and I have enough money to buy "designer" brands. I simply enjoy color and this sounded like a fun idea. A bit far fetched, but fun. Thanks so much to those who were polite.

Sure it's possible. Is it smart? That's a completely different question.

considering that crayons are made out of wax... do you really think that if there was a way to apply it, (your skin wouldn't breath, it would look crumbly ) would you like the way it looks? Yeah sure it is a lot of colors but it is safer to buy rimmel and milan eyeshadow (which are cheaper brands and they will go on a whole lot easier). Besides that doesn't sound like a friend who knows much of anything... PS, why don't you just ask your mother or some other person you know to give you some make up techniques?

Honestly because crayons are wax based i don't think they would stay on your skin. Even if you did get it to stick it wouldn't last and sounds painful to draw on your eyelids with a hard crayon tip.
I don't think crayola created crayons with an idea that they could also be used as makeup lol.
But hey you never know!

I'm sure you have enough "money" to buy designer brands, and you've been wearing make up a WHOLE 2 years....(roll eyes) but honestly make up is made with oil based products and crayons are water based. So as smart as you are, you didn't seem to stop and think that it would be physically impossible for crayons to show up on your skin. So maybe don't proclaim how SMART you really are hon. But your young, you'll learn.

If you like colour you should try the MAC pigment range of colours- they are not cheap like Mary Kay but they are well worth it. The colours last all day and can be applied so that they are
soft or so that they are bright and vibrant. You should have heaps of fun playing around and experimenting with these products. And your makeup will always look different to everyone elses :)

no - can't see how solid wax would be gentle, plyable and smooth enough to be applied to your eyes.
You proved it yourself when you drew on your arm. Your eye lids are far more sensitive and would damage easily, so no, don't do it. If you are young and waiting for the day you can wear makeup - wait some more. It's a very expensive habit to get into and little girls should not be wearing it anyway. Wait until you are 16 or so. If you are already 16.... I'm sorry but you should know better.

The premise is sound. During the 18th and 19th centuries, makeup was wax based. It was customary for women to gather by the fire and visit after dinner. Sitting too close to the fire would cause the wax to soften and run, giving birth to the phrase "saving face" (avoiding embarassment).
That being said, I'm a guy so my experience with Crayons is limited to their more traditional coloring book applications. ;)

Heck no that's not possible! Trying to apply color on your lids with a crayon could also damage your delicate eyelid area. No bueno! Kick your friend in the chops for me the next time you see him/her! If you want color and you want cheap, which I think you may be getting at, save your lunch money and buy some cheap-o stuff from Wal-mart.

No, it's not going to glide on your skin or stay on. She's not telling the truth. And don't just put anything on your skin, you will break out and have pimples everywhere. Stick to regular make up.
