He has called student's "band fag's" and special education teacher's "tard teacher's. Has used school's email system to talk about topless bar's and much much more. The school board did nothing in fact they made him Athletic director instead.Crossed the line? More on this issue here http://saveoursaxons.com/

It sounds like this teacher definitely is not being professional. I am surprised that the school kept him, but if they took him out of direct contact with students that may be part of it.

There may be more to the story that you do not know. Perhaps something occurred when they spoke with him privately and they decided to give him a second chance.

I do believe in forgiving and allowing second chances. I do NOT believe in allowing third chances.

Has this teacher apologized publicly? I am a little surprised that the school kept him, but due to union issues it could be that there is not enough evidence to actually fire him, but rather just to reprimand him. The school may have made him athletic director because they HAD to keep him and were not able to fire him.

If the school is able to, and if this man continues to be so rude, they will be able to do away with him at some point, like when his contract is up for renewal.

Involving the media could put pressure on the school administration, but it could also just bring more negative attention to a situation that has no other options.

In the vast majority of school districts, the school is an athletic department first that runs a high school as a secondary priority.

I am a teacher. I like sports. I played high school sports. I like almost all the coaches I know.
The priority of sports over all else is the reality of most school districts, and is driven by the desires of the parents and the locals, who are the taxpayers who ultimately fund the schools.
