my mom was rushed to the ER. i was crying and not able to reach any family. a lady came up to me. wrapped her arm around me and sat there with me. She called me a few days later to make sure we where ok.

About 20 yrs ago, I was stood up on Valentine's by a guy I had just started dating. A really good looking guy saw me standing outside the restaurant we were supposed to meet at. I was pretty upset. He came over to ask if I was ok. I told him what happened, thanked him for being so nice and started to walk away. He called me back and said "Instead of letting this jerk break your heart, come have dinner with me. I'm alone this year too and a pretty dinner companion will make me feel better." I agreed and we had a great time. He stopped at a store when he was driving me home and came out with a slightly wilted bouquet of mixed flowers for me. He actually apologized for the state of the flowers, saying they were the best ones the store had, which wasn't saying much.
He was so sweet and today is a very very good friend. We are married to other people and each have kids, but every Valentine's day, we have lunch together in honor of how we met, at that same restaurant.

I was in Indianapolis, IN attending a wedding. After the wedding, the brother of the bride and I were trying to find our hotel in the dark and rain. The brother of the bride was driving my car and hit a large median. The tire on the car blew out. We were both dressed in evening wear and were trying to change the tire ourselves. The nicest couple stopped by to help us and changed the tire for us. We were so appreciative for the help. We tried to pay the couple or at least buy them dinner......to no avail. The wouldn't accept anything but our thanks. I'll never forget that couple and their good deed. There is still some good in this world.

Changed my car tire. I offered to pay him but he refused, he just wanted me to return the favor to someone else and I have many times over.
