Yes, as said by the others above, it can vary with age.
I'm 44 and started going through Perimenopause (body changes before Menopause) in April 2006. In about 9 years I will hit Menopause. My mom had Menopause at 53 - that's what I am going by.

Well, typically from age 45-55, the average age being 51 years old. However, there are some women who go through the menopause early, i.e. before 40, but this is known as premature ovarian failure.

Anytime from 35-60. There are medical causes for earlier menopause such as chemotherapy, hormones....
My mother was 60 when she went through "the change" , I'm 55 and it hasn't hit me yet. There is a test that you can buy over the counter at the drug store to tell you if you are starting to go through menopause.
this might help:

Most women start menopause in their 40's but it can start as early as your 30's. You know if your periods become less frequent or if you have changes in them. Sometimes you will get hot flashes. Talk to your Gynecologist.

It varies with each women but can start in your 40's. Many times the periods change and get very erratic or a heavier flow or lighter flow. Night sweats are common and so are the hot flashes you have heard about. If you think you might be starting perimenopause and want to know for sure just ask your doc to check your hormones.

From age mid-forties to early fifties. Their period stops or becomes very spaced out to where they have one period every few months. They have hot flashes, night sweats. Sometimes they just feel "out of sorts".
