Your fish does not have ich! Ich appears as "grainy" white spots over all the fishes body. Your fish probably has a fungus, this can be caused by poor water conditions or as a result of some other form of trauma to the fish. First make very sure that the ammonia level in the tank is zero, then treat the fish with methylene blue, an anti fungus agent that will not harm the fish if used at the proper concentration.------- Good luck.----PeeTee

it could be...Pop Eye.
Pop eye is an infection that can have a few causes such as bacteria, Poor water quality, injury, poor nutrition, tumors, vitamin deficiently. The symptoms are quite clear.
Symptoms:Eye or eyes protrude from head, cloudy eyes from bacteria infection.
Treatment:Generally hard to treat, u may try a broad spectrum antibiotic.
or it could be ick. get ick away, its like stress coat but it gets rid of ick, it works in a couple of days and it's cheap too.
Ich attacks the skin and gills of the infected fish. Ich is a parasitic infestation that is a very common pest among hobby aquarists. It can be introduced by rapid changes in water chemistry such as temperature or ph (these weaken the fishes immune system leaving them susceptible to disease), poor water quality, or bullied fish. Ich is easily treated if caught in time. Once symptoms are observed, treatment must be swift. The life cycle of ich is about 4 days, if treated, it will have to be a minimum of 4 days. While the ich is in cyst form, it cant be killed by medication so you have to treat long enough for the cysts to hatch into its free swimming form.
Symptoms: Fish will flash or scrape its self against aquarium dcor, appearance of small white cysts or "sprinkles of salt" on the body or fins, loss of appetite, rapid gill fluctuation (breathing heavily), exhaustion, isolation, fish may hang out near the surface or water return.
Treatment: There are many different treatments available for ich, just goto any fish/pet store. Many people believe that the addition of aquarium salt at the ratio of 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of water, to be very effective along with the commercial treatment, and upping the temperature to 82F.

It could be the start of the "ick". If it continues to spread to more of the body, then you should go get the treatment for it at a pets store. The ick can kill fish so you need to act fast. You have to treat the water to get rid of it.
Check out this website, it has some information about what ick looks like and how to treat it.....http://www.nunnie.com/ick.html
I just did some more research and came up with what sounds like it could actually be it.
Common Name:
Slimy skin disease
Scientific Name:
Brooklynella hostilis
Organism:
ciliated protozoan
Signs: A grayish-white film will be noted on the skin of the fish, and is especially apparent on the eyes or darkly pigmented areas of the affected animal. Swollen gills and ulcerated areas may be noted in advanced cases. Such fish will generally tend to hang either at the waters surface or at the bottom of the tank. NOTE: This disease is highly contagious, and care should be taken that cross contamination does not occur.
If this sounds like it, then you should go to the pets store and tell them you need treatment for slimy skin disease. Good luck!

Your fish does not, I repeat does NOT have ick! You have a bacteria infection forming in or on your fishes eye, possibly the beginnings of pop-eye. You should do a large (50%) or more water change and treat with Furanace or Marycn as soon as possible. Remember to remove the carbon from your filter while you treat the tank or the carbon will remove the medication.
Please treat the fish, but please not for ick. That diagnosis is simply put very wrong.
Hope this helps

A fungus. It CAN be Ich (ick), but that usually affects the whole body. My dalmation molly got this when she was pregnant and she died a few hours after I noticed it. Ich is a disease that spreads under the slime coat of a fish and feeds off the slime. It kills fish VERY quickly and can spread to other tank mates just as fast.
Theres really nothing you can do except seperate this fish from the others to prevent it from spreading. You can "bake" the tank by setting the temperature above 90* for a few hours, but thats not good for the fish. You can get Ick Away but in my experiance thats not helpful.
Hope this helps, sorry about your fish.

This is more than likely a fungus. Go to the pet store and get a fungicide and if you have something you can treat the fish in other than your tank do so. Otherwise treat the whole tank. Remember to take any charcoal out of the filter first as this will filter out the medication.
