I have collected all 9 peices of the petpet lab map, yet when I go to Games, - Puzzles, - Maps, - Labrotory, it shows me that I don't have any peices, showing all nine boxes with '?' in them. How do I get this to work?

Do you have the Lab Ray yet? Not the Petpet Lab Ray, but the Lab Ray for regular pets? You have to have access to the Lab Ray (for pets) before you can gain access to the Petpet Lab Ray.
When you click on "Laboratory" you are trying to get to the Lab Ray (the ray for regular Neopets). Since you haven't yet put the map together to gain access to the Lab Ray, you don't see the option that says "Petpet". Since I have access to the Lab Ray on one of my accounts, I see the option for "Petpet".
Unfortunately, the only way you're going to be able to use the Petpet Lab Ray is if you already have access to the Lab Ray (for regular pets). You will have to put together the "Secret Laboratory Map" and gain access to the Lab Ray and then you will be able to put together the "Petpet Laboratory Map".
If you are going to try to put together the Secret Laboratory Map, it's going to cost a bit more than the Petpet Laboratory Map. The average price for the entire Secret Lab Map is running about 600,000 on the Trading Post. If you want to persue this, I suggest saving up your np and haunting the Shop Wiz for good deals.

You have to have the pieces in your inventory. If you don't want the Pant Devil to steal anything, be sure to stick a whole bunch of junk in there too. Also, make sure that you are going to the petpet lab map page and not the pet lab map page.

Have all 9 lab map pieces in your inventory. Go to the puzzles page for lab. You should then be able to click a button that says "collect your prize". You will then be granted participation of the lab ray. Until you click that "collect your prize" button, you will not be able to use the lab ray.
