I am ashamed and disgusted. This is history repeating itself - except this time, I don't believe we will have seen the last of the Islamic extremists.

I don't personally believe anyone who supports these policies is thinking rationally about the inevitable consequences of allowing the tactics of indiscriminate terror and murder of innocent civilians in allowing these dirt bags any type of conceived victory will accomplish.
Do they think the terrorists will give up tactics that apparently work? Their terror and murder have for all practical purposes defeated Spain and France - and, for the most part, the rest of the world is ignoring them.

When we face a better organized, better trained and better equipped alQaeda in the future, you can bet all you'll see is a lot of finger pointing and no one taking responsibility for these assnine and short sighted policies. It'll be the same rhetoric we hear now when we point out that both sides of the isle originally voted for this war - Hillary's latest flip flop is enough to make you dizzy.

What is the point of an endless war in which the American forces finally run out of ideas and pack their bags and leave after many years. Look at Vietnam. The same was debated but it took America 25years to lick its wounds and regain its confidence again. This looks to most Senators like a replay of that tape and some think that the quicker it is stopped the quicker the recovery. And although America is fighting a rag and mishmash of a force, it is actually committing a vast amount of its military and financial resources. This is not apparent to the viewing public but most analysts know that this level of activity, even for a superpower is not sustainable.

im for getting out of there, i think its a war that cant be won, at least not now by conventional means. i dont think we would have the problems we do if wed just let those people alone along time ago. unfortunately all we know is what we read in the news papers, we dont know what really goes on. i think our country has really over stepped its bounds and they are just trying to save face at the expense of our soldiers. i think we should send congress, the senate and all the rest of the representatives including the pres. over there and let them fight the war. they sure arnt doing anything constructive here.

No. Once upon a time, JFK said that America would bear any burden in defense of liberty. Evidently that is no longer true. Taliban and al Qaeda have made no secret of their belief in, and reliance on, the US to bug out rather than fight a long nasty war. We now have the choice to win -- or to lose. The consequences of a loss will be catastrophic.

No. Cowardice does not need support. Cowards will run and hide all on their own. Cowardice by any other name is still cowardice. If only the Gorinch had managed to steal Florida. We'd have our heads in the sand still trying to understand why they flew those planes into our towers.
