Ok, I always seem to ask questions to do with my friends. One of my friends is getting braces and she is freaking about it. She has this thing about image, insecureness I guess you'd call it and just the thought of braces brings her to tears. I have tried to support her and listen to her when she's talked to me however I wondered if anyone knows how I could help out when she actually has them.

Make her feel better about herself. make sure she has bottom metal and top clear braces. And that the top has pearl colored brakets, this way most people won't even know she has them, trust me, it took people three months to figure out I had them because they never saw the bottom part! Tell her alot of people have braces, she isn't the only person.

Just keep reminding your friend how great their smile will look when the braces come off. My son at 14 had them and he is now 26 with a great smile.

You know, the real reason people get braces is to improve their looks. So, encourage her to think about how great her smile will be when she's finished.
