I thought most people understood that "business days" meant you don't count weekends. I was reminded today that there are a lot of people who most definitely do not. What gives? Is it that difficult a concept to grasp?

Ouch, Gem! I AM a public school teacher, lol. I'm happy to know that my money goes towards paying teachers like myself. Not only do I know what business days are, I also do a bang-up job of educating the youth of America. I'm not raising sheep in my classroom. If you're unhappy with the current system, find a constructive way to fix it. :)

welll... 'business days' hold relevance if you are an employee or a customer of a traditional 9 to 5, monday to friday business. as brian stated, these were quite commonplace in the 1970s and 1980s, but now many businesses and workplaces that were once 40 hours a week operate saturdays, sundays, holidays, even 24/7 via the net.

so pardon the poor confused consumer if he or she forgets (or never knew) what business days traditionally meant. maybe an easier way to put it would be 'days when bob barker is on tv' or 'days that don't begin with an "S".' not difficult to grasp, but difficult to remember in today's pre-occupied world.

by the way, tomorrow is a federal holiday. business day, or no? :)

People are products of the public school system.

Our tax burden continues to grow and the amount of money shoveled into the schools continues to increase yet the kids seem to be getting dumber and dumber.

Our government wants them that way. Unintelligent sheep do not b*tch about government nor try to change anything.

Aren't you happy to work so hard to pay the governments employees everyday for the rest of their lives for such a job well done?

Fifty years ago, it was easy to know what a business day was. Most businesses were open only Monday-Friday. With todays 24 hour, seven days a week businesses, it could be confusing to some, especially to younger people who have never known different.
