God, defined as everything, everywhere, everywhen - all-powerful, all-present, all-knowing.
I experienced "God" directly when I was seventeen. There was no message, no mission. Just a direct experience of God for five hours. Changed my life forever.
I gained a whole new appreciation for science and logic, and never found a religion that reflected what I experienced, though I found immense wisdom in many of the holy texts, and have read most of them.
I am not religious. My 'higher power' is God.

Why do I have to have one? The universe is the closest there can be, but it's not a 'higher power' and needs no worshiping.

I am a Christian but I am not religious. I think there is a misunderstanding; there are many religions but Christians do not have a religion, we have a relationship with GOD the FATHER thru GOD the SON and are led into all truth by GOD the HOLY SPIRIT.
