Don't be so discouraged. I'm a student in college and I have couple of friends who had to learn English within only 4-6 months. They did not take TOEFL, but they learned English fairly quickly.

Reading your question, I feel that you're capable of passing the exam. I recommend that you practice speaking English with your friends. Also, read. It may be hard, but you must read. If you want to master or learn a new language, you must read and understand what you are reading.

Take practice exams. Practice speaking, reading, and writing. One effective way of practicing writing is writing a journal and asking friends if they have found grammatical or spelling errors. Also, don't rely too much on the "automatic check spelling and grammar" in certain programs like Microsoft Word. You should also try listening to conversations and stories. I don't recommend listening to music. Instead, gather any recordings of books that are read out loud, and read as you listen. It will help you understand what you are reading and hearing.

One year is a long time...but it can seem short too. :) I believe it's possible for you to do well. Start practicing now and keep trying no matter what happens. Hope that helps! ^__^
