I am building my new computer and have a question about getting the right memory. The question is what is the difference between dual channel ram and regular. Also would I be able to put 4gb of regular ram together or what? How does this work? Thanks!

I just want to know the difference in speeds. The motherboard does support the dual channel ram, but i just don't know if it is worth paying more for dual channel.

Dual channel RAM roughly doubles the bandwidth of your memory, so yes it is a very good thing. Now there is no physical difference between stuff labeled dual channel and stuff not labeled. Dual Channel takes place on the motherboard, and requires two identical sticks. Hence when they sell two identical sticks in a package, they label it dual channel RAM, but it is not different than regular RAM. If you wanted 4GB, you could get 2 2GB dual channel kits, or just 4 identical regular 1GB sticks. If you want further clarification, email or istant message me.

DDR2 RAM is the fastest available. The motherboard you choose will determine the amount of RAM and type you can install.
