why do you need someone to manage your socks - i mean ok putting red socks in the laundry causes everything to go pink - but a manager.
then again - i would happily manage your socks - if i was good at it - may be you'd put me in charge of your whole wardrobe

I don't think he's going to manage Pawtucket, I read he was going to start out in A-Ball, and try to work his way up. I hope he's a better manager than a player, because after a good first couple of years, his career really sucked. He was also a flop in Japan.
I see you gave me a thumbs down, but it's true. Gabe Kapler totally SUCKED, yeah he did, really. 31 years old now and washed up, done. "Gabe the Babe" HA!! A lot of good that did him. A-Rod is the same age, and he's headed to the Hall of Fame. Yeah, Gabe has a ring, but he was just a back-up scrub player on the '04 team, he didn't mean much. Enjoy your time managing in the minors Gabe, it's too bad your career didn't amount to much.

I would prefer Arnold Horseshack. On a serious note, I think he will be a good manager. From hearing his interviews, he understands the game. He is a great team player. He understands the importance of getting along with others. I think he could be a good teacher. He can handle pressure. He did well enough in the big leagues that he will have a little bit of credibility. He is smart and well spoken. He does well with the press. He has all of the tools to be a good manager. But, how do you ever know if someone will succeed as a manager until they have the opportunity.

Im pretty excited. Im a die hard Red Sox fan and I live 45 minutes from where he will manage. I hope he does ok, but I'm a little concerned because he has played under francona who I do not believe is good at all. He does lack experience but I think he has a strong voice and will make an impact.

I am not a Red Sox fan. I don't think Kapler could manage. He doesn't have enough experience.

This is the first I heard of this. I thought Terry Francona was still the manager. As for Kapler, he was an OK player, but don't know how he would do as skipper.
