Which is the best of the two:SQL SERVER or ORACLE 9i ??

depends on how much volume. i use sql server, but oracle is typically better with higher volume databases. as far as languages, they mostly use ANSI standard SQL to access them , but in sql serer you have what is called T-SQL and in oracle you have PL-SQL. Both are powerful "coding" languages. You'll have a hard time finding any "one" answer to this question as there are "gurus" in both arenas that think one is better than the other.

SQL Server is great - if your server machine is running windows. You can integrate the Windows OS security with the SQL server security.
