Why would you need your employer's EIN? The SSA/IRS gets copies of the w-2's and it only matters to them.

Your social security number is the only one you need to worry about.

You'd only have an EIN if you own a business. If so, it would be on your business license.

Otherwise, the number on your W-2 would be your social security number.

Call the company payroll department and ask them what it is. Do NOT depend on the internet searches. The few that I've checked are very inaccurate.

EIN? Employer Identification Number? Do you own a business? If that's what you're talking about, you should keep it with your legal files.

...or is it that you need to REGISTER an EIN number? you can do that at www.irs.gov

It's probably easiest to just call the company. The should be able to give it to you easily enough.
