Sounds like flashrust. If you're gonna live with the dent and not get it repaired, sand it down to bare metal, wipe clean with a waterbased cleaner and apply a couple of thin coats of Rustseal by KBS Coatings. Brushmarks will flow out. It's the best automotive rust paint today. Cures by drawing moisture out of the metal. It's the only moisture-cured urethane that comes in 8 diff colors....choose the easiest color to topcoat with your automotive paint. A $16 KBS system sampler sounds like a good deal for you!

hi. i think of that there is a rust combating spray paint which you would be able to attempt. i'm unsure if it might provide up rust that has already started, regardless of the undeniable fact that it is going to conceal the rust to boot. i know that there is a greater costly, yet greater valuable thank you to provide up rust. that's to get an "digital rust stopper" i'm unsure incredibly what that's called, regardless of the undeniable fact that that's an digital device that has 2 cables like a battery charger. You hook them up magnetically around the rust and the digital waves will provide up the corrosion in the steel. wish this facilitates you out.

Rust doesn't start justafter a couple of days. Get it fixed at a body shop then get your car rustproofed.

there are only 3 ways i know of to stop iron rusting.
1 is stick a large chunk of zink on it, so the zink rusts instead (what they do on ships i think)
2 is to paint it so no metal is showing
3 is to put it in an air tight container, or send it to space so no water or air can reach the metal.

YOu have to have body work done on it and get it rust checked, before the salt makes it worse.
