I read somewhere that the Bush family was pro-choice until George Bush Sr became Reagan's running mate, and that Prescott Bush (W's grandfather) volunteered for Planned Parenthood.

Does anyone know anymore about this? What will it take for the Bush family to become pro-choice again?

Bush's mother, his wife and Condoleezza Rice all have stated that they believe Roe v. Wade should not be overturned.

Yes, Prescott Bush was the treasurer for Margaret Sanger's first national Planned Parenthood drive.

1) Abortion was not an issue during Prescott Bush's time.
2) There is no "family position".
3) George HW Bush was, at 1 time pro abortion. People can & sometimes do change their positions as the mature & learn.
4) As far as I know, George W Bush has been anti abortion his entire political life.

Yep. Bush Sr. was pro-choice until he teamed up with Reagan. And Jr. forced one of his girlfriends to get an abortion back in the day

George Bush Sr. was pro-choice as a congressman. I think he became pro-choice before he was Hitler's, err, Reagan's, running mate.

The Bush/Walker family indeed goes back to the days of one Margaret Sanger of early planned parenthood days.

It should be noted that in those early days, it wasn't thought-of as pro-choice, it was segregation into concentration camps for inferior races and forced sterilization, and euthanasia for defective infants.
It was later changed to "planned parenthood."

I've heard of people who were pro-choice turning pro-life but I've never heard the opposite happening. Never heard about GW being anything but pro-life but that's certainly possible. I didn't know much about him before he ran for president. Good question though.

Why? They are out of politics in two years.

Most people are pro choice after their children are born.
