People who 'hate' others solely because of their nationality are pathetic individuals who cannot see beyond their own little backyard. Their arrogance is beyond belief. Poking (harmless) fun at others is ok up to a point as most of us have a sense of humour and the ability to laugh at ourselves. The point when this ribbing becomes personal and nasty is when the perpetrator turns into a bully (and we've all seen examples of this recently publicised in the media!).
Some people use the word 'hate' far too glibly these days. They need to take a good hard look at themselves and realise the harm that 'hatred' can do.
Oh, and by the way, the phrase is 'iechyd da' not 'yakidar', it means 'good health', and is usually used as a toast just like 'cheers'.

I know some lovely Welsh people, lovely Irish people, lovely Scottish people and lovely English people, there all the same to me, hate is a big word and not in vocabulary.

I don't hate anyone for their ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Come to think of it, I don't think I hate anyone - o.k., maybe child predators - but I think that's warranted.
When I lived in England, the English didn't hate the Welsh by any stretch. But they did enjoy taking the piss (poking fun) at them, e.g., "the bloody Welsh are a bunch of sheep-shaggers, they are!" It was all in fun and not at all serious.

You will find that people do hate the welsh. the english are the least liked if being honest.

We don't have to... the Welsh hate everybody. We used to say Yakidar to them before we could get a good morning out of them then all you were likely to get was F*** off you brit bastards.
