Let's say the n value for this organism is 20 chromosomes. The 2n value would be 40 and the 3n value would be 60.

We have 60 chromosomes.

we will then have 120 at the end of prophase I.

we will have 60 in each cell at the end of telophase I

We will have 30 in each cell at the end of telophase II.

30 is exactly 1/2 of the original amount of 60.
