is it ok if you clean a toilet with bleach at the same time as someone else cleans a mirror with windex in a small room with the door open. i heard that mixing amonia with bleach would release a toxic gas adn i wanted to now if using the 2 chemicals at the same time would cause this reaction. also would it create enough polllutants to effect you.

No you are confused. The danger is MIXING them together. The ammonia mixed with bleach is what causes the dangerous fumes. If you clean a mirror with Windex and clean a toilet with bleach then nothing is mixing so it is ok. Also Windex makes Ammonia free window cleaning solutions if you are so concerned.

Never mix cleaners, unless you are an experienced chemist and know exactly how two chemicals will react to each other. I would even say then, only under a fume hood, just in case. We all know the horror stories of the wrong cleaners mixed together.

Use one and only one cleaner at a time. If you don't like the results, rinse thoroughly and then try another product.

If it says the windex is harmful to breathing, then yeah, it might be bad for you.

If you were pouring the two of them in one bowl, then you would have a problem. but using them the way you are if fine.
