I have a lot of respect for my father. He came from a poor family chose to be smart and join the Marine Corp at a very early age. The reason I credit this as a smart decision is he found it would be better to join than be drafted during the Vietnam War. He has worked hard all his life. Did his best to raise a family and defend his country. Without his love, support and teachings I do not think I would have faired as well as I have in this world. He taught me that the world is tough, to love people and help those who need help. There are numerous other things that he has taught me. I show him respect by passing on his words and teachings to my children.

From a personal standpoint, I respect my parents because they're working hard, while I am unemployed and looking for a job. They let me live with them at their house and they don't nag or pressure me. They know I'm trying hard to find a job and career.
From a global standpoint, I respect good and hard-working scientists, because they are exploring ways to make our world a better place to live.
