Hi,
There are thousands of words you have never heard of. Just scan a dictionary. I like to scan mine all the time and I don't play scrabble.
Have fun playing

Because I play in National Scrabble Association (NSA) sanctioned club and tournaments, I use the Official Tournament and Club Word List.(TWL) It is not a dictionary, per se, but an alphabetical list of all words of 2-9 letters (Plus their inflections) which are acceptable in clubs and tournaments. No definitions, and many "offensive" words, which do not appear in The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary,4th Edition, DO appear in the list. You have to be a member of NSA to purchase it.

Edit: I forgot to mention The Long Word List, which is basicallty an addendum to the TWL, and includes acceptable words of 10-15 letters.
