i don't get it...japan has apologized in the past several times...but now Dem's are pushing for a stronger language in their apology...why do they want to stick the US nose in asias business...isn't the issue of comfort women between china, south korea and japan...what point is it for us to say something about...or is it some noble act like when Carter stopped supporting the former iranian government on "moral" grounds....which led to hostages being taken and a new islamic anti american state being formed...or do they just hate Japan...japan has been sending billions of yen to both countries for several decades after they apologized the first time...

I really don't know. And I don't think they should apologize anyways. More people died in Japan than United States.

First and foremost, The country of Japan belongs to the United States of America, had our government at the time had no compassion the country of Japan would cease to exist. Therefore that alone gives the USA all the right to be involved in Japanese politics & government. To take women force them into prostitution is an unmoral act against humanity & some of the Japanese leaders should voluntary seek the gallows with the bravery of a samari warrior, if they had any respect for their people and the war time prisoner toucher that they can never apologize enough. They should mark a day in Japan as great as Christmas and give to all they punished and China should not be excluded. At the time of WW II the Japanese military & government made Hitler look like a nice man.

Well, first of all, it's not "the Democrats;" it's a bill by a Democratic Representative, Mike Honda.

Secondly, this isn't about apologizing for non-specific "actions," it's about gaining an apology to the "comfort women," women forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese. Although they have offered some reparations, Japan has never apologized for those actions. As you may or may not know, an apology is a powerful thing in Asian culture.

Actually it would be very nice if every country (including our's) apologized for their actions during every war! Every country did its share of wrong things--time to fess up.

it must be related to some kiss *** operation from the new Dem Congress who would like to apologize to everyone if they just could get a quorum.
