I can connect fine on my laptop, but have to enter the 63 digit key every time i connect. Until I rebooted the router, I didn't have to do this. Would appreciate any help. thanks

The connection doesn't drop, it just asks for the network key each time i turn the laptop on. I used to be able to get the laptop connected and not having to type the key in

In the router controls there is usually a drop down box which allows you to set the time the key is valid for. You need to set it to permanent or whatever the max setting is for your router.

On a Netgear router you have to remember to click 'Apply' after you alter any settings. When did you last back up your router, was this before you encrypted it. I would remove the encryption/tick disable security settings and would then re-encrypt it from there. If it works do a back up and don't foget to date it.

You might want to look into upgrading the firmware.
