Couple of things to keep in mind:
1. You generally do what is the best thing for you at the time given your circumstances and knowledge. In the future, you are armed with knowledge of how things worked out. If I could go back to 1990, I would get all of the money I could raise and invest in this company called 'Microsoft'.
The point is, if you look back at what you 'should' have done, you have a whole lot more information than you did at the time when you made your original decisions.
2. Human beings all like security. 'Following your dream' normally involves a certain amount of risk. How someone perceives risk and decides what is acceptable and what is not is an individual decision. For some, climbing Mt. Everest or going over Niagara Falls in a barrel is 'acceptable risk'. For others, leaving a bad marriage for the unknown, or leaving their secure job to pursue another career that they may enjoy but not have a lot of experience is not 'acceptable risk'.
In hindsight, you don't consider 'risk' because you know the outcomes. Furthermore, when you look at things in hindsight, you almost always assume positive results (if I hadn't stayed in my job as an accountant and become an actor, I would be a successful star by now. Or if I had left that bad relationship for my true love, I would be happy right now - without consideration that your 'true love' may not have worked out, either.
When you look at your life, most people will see things that they may have done differently knowing what they know now. Keep in mind that a big part of 'knowing what you know now' is the actual experiences you chose in your life. There's a difference between thinking you would do things differently and regret.

Yes and no. I think regrets are a way of life. However, many people say they have no regrets, and I believe that, because if you would have changed things, you wouldnt be who, and where you are, if this makes sense. There was a time that I use to dwell on choices that I made, but quite frankly, I cant see myself any other way, and I am happy with myself, and the position that I am in life. I may not have emassed much in terms of material wealth, but I think I have gained an abundance of knowledge that I apply to my everyday life and reap the benefits and not being a victim. I am pursuing my dream, and loving it. Many people live their lifes to please others, and this usually comes at a price, they become trapped, and wonder why they didnt follow their dreams. I find it funny that may who dont follow their dreams, are often the ones who bash others for doing so, when in fact, the ones that dont, should be bashed. Amen, do what makes you happy. We live in a society that is fixated on superfical things, but that is just to compensate what many people are lacking in integrtiy. Work on yourself from the inside, and WHO REALLY CARES how you are percieved by others.

I'm just 22, but years ago I did regret having the life I had. Nowadays my life has totally changed, allowing me to see that everything happens for a reason. Now, I can see the good that "evil" brought, the good things that were born in the bad, in the sad.
So no, not only I wouldn't change the life I live, but also I'm thankfull for what it has taught me.

Of course there are some minor things I regret that I wish I could change but if changing them would mean that my life would be different (i.e. I wouldn't have the children I have now) then I wouldn't not want to change anything.
If it means my life would just be a bit better, then yes, I would.
