i had driven it a few times today (so the gas line wasn't frozen), and i didn't run out of gas. It just died when I was driving it...no stutter or anything, just, bam! done.

It turns over when i turn the ignition, but doesn't fire up. any ideas what could be wrong? i just need to know where to start.

There are lots of possibilities but lets try the following

1 Bad fuel pump
2 Bad ignition coil
3 injectors blocked or fuel filter plugged
4 check the ground to the battery and the main ground to the frame
Good luck

If it just died like you shut off the ignition then you don't have a spark. If this car is a Chevrolet, it is most likely the igntion module that is under the distributor cap that needs to be replaced. Depending on the make of vehicle it is,it could be various things but you it sounds like you have an ignition problem or a broken timing belt. Please tell us what kind of car you have with as many details about the make and model you can, that information is essential for a proper diagnosis.

1930's vehicles have been very undemanding while in comparison with immediately's vehicles. So, from a reader's viewpoint, i'd make the wear and tear down so basic as achievable yet achievable. One project would be the factors went undesirable, inflicting no spark, and the automobile would die. 2d project would be the gasoline pump went out. The communique would bypass some thing like this: i think of that's the factors, i do no longer think of the plugs are firing. "No, that's the gasoline pump, you're actually not getting any gasoline."

I'm from taylorsville indiana,,,,lol, have someone turn the ignition on and you listen close by the gastank for the fuel pump to engage, check all of your plug wires also. There are only 2 things that can be wrong with any engine. its either not getting any fuel or its not getting any fire.

It kind depends on what car you have. it could be a number of things for example it could be you distributor, wich goes into one side of the engine. If you tell me more about what car and how the engine is mounted side or front? Is the timing belt on the driver side?

Perhaps even water or condensation got into the gas (tank).

Get Peyton Manning to take a look at it...he can fix anything!

the rotor and cap worn out to the point it caused the engine to quit.

go and replace these parts before doing anything if it has been over a year
for a tune up.
