the song was written by johm ellison and orginally recorded by the soul brothers 6 in 1967...it was a local hit in the the detroit area and reached #91 on the national charts...then it was covered by grand funk railroad in the early 70s and then huey lewis and the news in the early 90s...

It's called "Some Kind of Wonderful". The original was done by The Soul Brother Six in the late 1960's, but Grand Funk Railroad had a hit with their version and it's the one most folks recognize.

Yes, all good info. Specifically, Some Kind of Wonderful was witten and sung by Mark Farner, of Grand Funk Railroad. Later, when he became a Christian, he re-recorded the song as a solo artist with different lyrics.

the posted lyrics are correct but unless there was a remake, the version I grew up with was recorded by Grand Funk Railroad
