You should be her friend and find someone of your own. You told her that you would never come between her and her boyfriend. Don't go back on your word. A true friend would never do anything that she knows would hurt her friend.
There are so many boys out there and I'm sure you won't have a problem finding one that you like even better than her boyfriend. It's not worth it to destroy a friendship that has lasted so long. Forget this boy and move on. If the tables were turned would you appreciate your friend trying to make it with your boyfriend?

There are other fish in the sea, but friendship....well, that ain't exactly a fish as easily caught. I would back off on this fella and support your friend. If things happen after they break up, then so be it, but dont get involved or cause that. How many people have friends they have known since first grade? A dude should not come between that...good luck

If she is as good as a friend as you say she is to you then you may want to back off, dont let a guy come between you because girlfriends are harder to find especially the one you have known since 1st grade, now if you dont care for her you may want to tell her you have outgrown her friendship and then go for the guy but I think that is the most painful thing you could do to a friend.

I know you don't want to hear this...and I really don't want to tell you cuz I know how you feel but....you must just leave this guy alone. No guy is worth trading a special freindship for which you have had since the 1st grade for a chance with a guy who might not last a month...please just don't do it...try to look the other way.....there maybe a time down the road after they are broken up and she tells you its ok...cuz i have someone else...then you can go after him.....but please don't do it now...I hope you can understand that it would be the mature thing for you to do. good luck!

Bad sit. Ok try either choosing your friend or bf. Too painful? If she knows you like him try to find a guy that she likes even more. Still not working? Have a battle of the friends and let him choose. Sorry if this dosn't work. Bad sit. Good question.

who matters more... a crush or a friend since first grade? if you were in the 2nd grade i would suggest the boyfriend but since im guessing she has been a longer friend then that ,,, keep her as a friend and wait till they break up but dont wish for it to happen afterwards ask her if she is ok with you dating him

If you value your friendship with her, Don't do anything!! Control your feelings and dont do anything to jeopardize your friendship. Be careful about your actions toward her boyfriend as well (There is such a thing as TOO FRIENDLY). Try to get over him, because its so not worth it to lose you best friend over a boy.

Leave it alone. You are going to hurt your friend and ruin your relationship with her. There are millions of men in this world that would be happy to date you, find another one.
Or the rule of thumb is: however long they have been dating is how long you have to wait when they break up for him to be fair game for you.
Move on, find someone else...
